MEMORIAL GROSSI, SECOND DAY: THE FINAL IS ITALY SPAIN

Beautiful basketball saturday in Asti’s Palasanquirico for the second day of Memorial Andrea Grossi.

Different the history of the two groups. Spain dominated group B, with Greece very inferior – tecnically and overall physically - to the rivals, and Poland that can resist just one quarter against the very strong spanish team.

The group A, instead, was very balanced. Italy, France and Czech Republic won a match each: Czech Republic won friday against France (+2); France won saturday morning against Italy (+3; great match for Arnaud, good match for Paul); Italy won against Czech Republic Saturday night (+6; great match for Sottana) and so conquer also the first place in the group standing (for points quotient). They were three very good matches, that showed three teams that will can be – with Spain and Russia – the stars of the next European Championship for Under 16 girls (july 30th-augst 8th in Piedmont).

Today the finals will start at 3 p.m. with Czech Republic-Greece (fifth place), then at 5 p.m. it will play France-Poland (third place) and finally Italy-Spain (7 p.m.) for the first place in the tournament.

Italy suffered another injury with Cinili, out during the match against France.
